S. Korea: Gov’t seeks to allow fired workers to join enterprise-level unions

“The Ministry of Employment and Labor said Tuesday it was submitting revisions to the Labor Law that will among other things allow people who were fired to retain their company’s union membership. The move is part of the government’s efforts to ratify three of four key International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions it has signed within the year, after facing mounting pressure from the EU.”
